Farmers in the Polonnaruwa and Habarana areas say that those engaged in field crop cultivation are facing severe difficulties due to the rising prices of urea fertilizer and other fertilizer varieties.
Chairman of the National Vegetable Growers’ Association, Nimal Hewawitharana, stated that farmers have been seriously affected as fertilizer subsidies have not been provided for field crops.
