Mr. Ranasinghe Premadasa was received by members of the royal family during his visit to England when he was the Prime Minister.
Mr. Premadasa and Mrs. Dulanjali Premadasa as well as the current opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa were also present on that visit.
Several photographs of the Duke of Edinburgh and Queen Elizabeth II meeting with Prime Minister Premadasa and family members have been released to the media.
