The leader of India’s TVK party and South Indian superstar actor Thalapathy Vijay has unveiled his election manifesto.
According to Indian media reports, he released the manifesto for the Tamil Nadu state election scheduled to be held on the 23rd.
Through the manifesto, he has further stated that he will advocate for pressuring the Indian central government to grant citizenship to Sri Lankan refugees living in India, and that he will stand for securing the rights of the Tamil people living in Sri Lanka.
Thalapathy Vijay has also stated in his manifesto that he aims to reaffirm the rights of Indian fishermen to freely carry out fishing activities around the Katchatheevu Island area.
Political analysts have already predicted that Vijay’s TVK party could secure a significant number of votes in the upcoming Tamil Nadu election, posing a strong challenge to former Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s DMK party and former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s AIADMK party.
Analysts have also pointed out that even if Vijay’s party fails to win a majority of seats, there is still a possibility that the Tamil Nadu state government could be formed with the support of his party.
