A Ratnapura-based businessman who has been remanded in custody over allegations of possessing Rs. 30 million (30,000,000.00) from undeclared assets amounting to Rs. 740 million, allegedly belonging to former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, informed Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama today that he is prepared to provide a confidential statement regarding the incident.
The Chief Magistrate emphasized that any confidential statement must be made voluntarily and only after careful consideration.
The suspect, businessman Gabkhela Mohottalage Nihal Sisira Kumara, is scheduled to record the confidential statement before the Magistrate.
The statement is due to be given today at the official chambers of the Colombo Chief Magistrate.
