Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, the second son of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi and a prominent figure in Libya’s political landscape, has been killed, according to major international media outlets including Al Jazeera.

Reports state that the attack was carried out by four armed assailants who forced their way into his residence in the western Libyan town of Zintan. The attackers reportedly disabled security cameras before carrying out the killing.

Libyan legal authorities have launched a full-scale investigation into the incident.

Since the fall of his father’s rule in 2011, Saif al-Islam Gaddafi has remained a controversial yet influential figure in Libyan politics. Observers believe his death could have significant implications for the country’s future political stability.
