President’s Counsel Sumathi Dharmawardena, who has been serving as the Additional Solicitor General, has been promoted to the position of Senior Additional Solicitor General, according to the latest updates from Sri Lanka.
The Attorney General’s Department has two positions for Senior Additional Solicitor General.
President’s Counsel Rohantha Abeysuriya, who previously held one of these positions, was appointed as the President of the Court of Appeal, while President’s Counsel Susantha Balapatabendi retired.
Sumathi Dharmawardena has now been appointed to one of the two vacant positions, and President’s Counsel Haripriya Jasundara is expected to be appointed to the remaining position.
