A long-awaited meeting between the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and the United National Party (UNP) took place in Colombo this afternoon.
The meeting was held between SJB leader and Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa and the UNP leader.
From the UNP side, Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene, Deputy Leader Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, and Vice President Naveen Dissanayake attended the discussion.
Sources say that many important issues were discussed during the meeting, which was held in a very cordial atmosphere and lasted several hours.
It is also reported that both parties have agreed to continue these discussions for some time.
