The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has ordered the release on bail of former Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, Dhammika Ranatunga, who was arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.
Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama issued the order after considering submissions made by officials of the Bribery Commission and counsel representing the suspect.
Meanwhile, the Bribery Commission informed court that former Minister of Petroleum, Arjuna Ranatunga, will be arrested as a suspect in connection with the incident and produced before the court.
