Revealing this matter for the first time in Parliament, MP Rishad Bathiudeen had recently lodged a complaint with Deputy Minister of State Security Aruna Jayasekara.

The MP further alleged that the OIC supports drug-related activities in the area.

He also pointed out that no action has been taken against the OIC to date.

According to the MP, he too possesses the audio recording in question, but noted that it cannot be released publicly as publishing such information is not currently permitted in public media.

Recently, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake also stated that certain individuals within the security forces are involved in drug trafficking and underworld activities, and emphasized that they must immediately withdraw from such conduct.
