Minister Samantha Vidyarathna revealed that loans amounting to over USD 500,000, obtained from the World Bank during previous administrations, had been distributed among political allies without implementing any related development projects. (Sri Lanka Latest News)
The Minister further stated that the present government had taken measures to settle the outstanding loan amount through a Cabinet paper, following a letter sent by the World Bank to the government in May.
