A businessman who sustained injuries in a shooting incident near the Ambalangoda Municipal Council this morning (04) has died, Sri Lanka Latest News reports.
According to police, an unidentified group arrived in a car at approximately 10.30 a.m., targeted the victim, and fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
The injured individual was rushed to the Balapitiya Base Hospital for treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Preliminary police investigations have revealed that the victim was the husband of the elder sister of an individual identified as Karandeniya Sudda, a member of an organized crime gang.
The Ambalangoda Police have commenced further investigations into the incident.
