In addition to this prestigious recognition, the Air Force website also secured the Gold Award in the Government Website Category and received the award for Best Mobile User Experience, marking an outstanding triple victory. The awards ceremony took place recently (August 27) at the Monarch Imperial Hotel, Kotte, Sri Jayewardenepura. The event was graced by the Acting Secretary of the Ministry of Digital Economy, Mr. Waruna Sri Dhanapala, as the Chief Guest. The welcome address was delivered by the Registrar of the LK Domain, Prof. Gihan Dias, who underscored the critical role of digital technology in Sri Lanka’s national development.
The airforce.lk website has been consistently recognized since 2009, winning gold, silver, and bronze awards in the Government Website Category over the years. Its achievement in claiming the overall Gold Award in the BestWeb.lk 2025 competition reflects the platform’s exemplary maintenance, regular updates, and commitment to excellence — a proud moment for the Sri Lanka Air Force.
Representing the Air Force at the ceremony were the Director General of Electronics and Computer Engineering, Air Vice Marshal Asitha Hettiarachchi; Air Force Media Director, Group Captain Eranda Geeganage; Director of Information Technology, Group Captain Chanaka Suriyarachchi; Group Captain Sampath Kumara; and Wing Commander Pasan Gunasekara, among others.
