Minister Vijitha Herath announced today that the official residence of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa in Wijerama has been allocated for the establishment of a High Court.
According to the Minister, four buildings under the Ministry of Public Administration — including the former President’s official residence in Wijerama — have been designated for the establishment of new High Courts.
Investigations into the matter have revealed that this decision was made to expedite the trial process of pending cases. The government is reportedly considering allocating additional ministerial residences for similar purposes in the future.
