A photo showing former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran, who is still being sought in connection with the 2015 Central Bank bond scam, engaged in a video call has been posted on Facebook by journalist Uvindu Kurukulasuriya.

Kurukulasuriya, sharing the photo on social media, stated that Arjuna Mahendran is a close friend of his and that they had reconnected after nearly three years.
He further mentioned that Mahendran discussed several matters during the conversation and had requested him to give some advice to President Anura Dissanayake.
Kurukulasuriya said he declined the request, adding that the discussion included “many topics.” He also noted that he has known Mahendran for nearly 30 years.
Arjuna Mahendran, who is currently residing in Singapore, has been accused of being involved in the controversial bond issuance that allegedly caused significant financial losses to the Sri Lankan government.
