The Kurunegala Magistrate’s Court has ordered the release of former Navy Commander Admiral (Retd) Nishantha Ulugetenne on bail.
The order was issued this morning (14) when the case filed against him was taken up for hearing before the court.
Admiral (Retd) Ulugetenne was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on July 28 over allegations of abducting and causing the disappearance of a Polgahawela resident. The victim had reportedly been receiving treatment at the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital after being arrested by the Alawwa Police on suspicion.
