An office assistant attached to the Colombo Municipal Council, who had been selling ice and heroin to council employees, has been arrested by the Walana Anti-Corruption Unit. Sri Lanka Latest News
According to police, the suspect had been discreetly packing ice and heroin inside his office for a long period before distributing it to municipal staff.
The suspect, who was employed as a driver, operated from an office located within the Colombo Municipal Council building near Campbell Park.
Acting on a tip-off, the Walana Anti-Corruption Unit carried out a raid on the 22nd and discovered more than 20,000 milligrams of heroin in his possession.
The suspect was arrested and subsequently handed over to the Borella Police.
Following his production before the Aluthkade Magistrate’s Court, a detention order was obtained, and further investigations are currently underway.
