According to the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI), Sri Lanka’s headline inflation increased to 1.5% in August 2025, marking a rise from 0.7% in July 2025, the Department of Census and Statistics reported.
In the food category, headline inflation, which stood at 2.2% in July, climbed to 2.9% in August.
Meanwhile, in the non-food category, headline inflation recorded a shift from -0.6% in July to 0.4% in August, the report further stated.
