The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court has ordered the release of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe on bail, according to the latest updates from Sri Lanka.
The court has directed that the former president be released on three surety bonds, each valued at Rs. 5 million.
Magistrate Ms. Nilupuli Lankapura issued the order after reviewing the submissions presented by the Criminal Investigation Department and the defense attorneys.
The decision also took into account the medical reports that were submitted in support of the bail request.
