Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali Jayatunga today issued a notice to former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran, directing him to appear before court on the 26th of next month. The notice relates to allegations that Mahendran caused a loss of over Rs. 10 billion to the government by issuing Central Bank treasury bonds to his nephew Arjun Aloysius’ company.
