Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC has been appointed as the official distributor for Starlink satellite internet services in Sri Lanka, following the recent launch of the service in the country.
A post published on Singer (Sri Lanka)’s official Facebook page has hinted at this new partnership, while sources confirm that an official announcement is expected shortly.
Further confirming the development, the Starlink Sri Lanka Official Facebook page has published a statement announcing Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC as the official local distributor.

Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC is a publicly listed company under the Hayleys Group, which is controlled by Sri Lankan billionaire businessman Dhammika Perera. Hayleys PLC holds a 67.13% stake in Singer (Sri Lanka), while Dhammika Perera owns 51.01% of Hayleys PLC.
Starlink, owned by Elon Musk—widely regarded as the world’s richest individual—is a revolutionary high-speed satellite internet system. It operates through thousands of satellites positioned in near-Earth or low-Earth orbit, capable of transmitting data at speeds faster than traditional fiber optic cables.
Notably, Dhammika Perera is considered the richest individual in Sri Lanka, adding further significance to this partnership between two prominent figures in the global and local business landscape.
