The Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, High Court Judge Ranga Dissanayake, emphasized that even if a person causes financial loss to the government without gaining any personal benefit, it still constitutes an act of corruption.
He made these remarks while addressing a seminar held in Colombo, where he also stressed the need to establish a public service that resists undue influence from politicians.
Judge Dissanayake made these comments during the second annual general meeting of the Association of Semi-Government Executive Officers, held this afternoon at the Colombo Foundation Institute, where he attended as the chief guest.
