Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala has stated that, as of now, there is no information confirming that Ishara Sewwandi—the prime suspect in the murder of Ganemulla Sanjeewa—has fled the country.
He further noted that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is conducting a formal investigation into the murder case.
Minister Wijepala made these remarks during his appearance on the 360° program aired on TV Derana last night (23).
“Based on the information currently available to us, it has not been revealed that she has left the country. All relevant information regarding this incident that the suspect possessed has been uncovered through other suspects,” he said.
