The Turkish Navy’s Ada-class corvette, TCG BÜYÜKADA, arrived at the Port of Colombo this morning (13 June 2025) on a formal goodwill visit. The vessel was ceremonially welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with longstanding naval traditions.
Commanded by Lieutenant Commander Anil BİLGİN, the 99.56-meter-long warship is crewed by 147 naval personnel. The visit marks another milestone in strengthening bilateral maritime cooperation between Turkey and Sri Lanka.
During their stay, the crew of TCG BÜYÜKADA is scheduled to explore Sri Lanka’s cultural and historic attractions and participate in several naval camaraderie-building activities organized by the Sri Lanka Navy.
The visit will conclude on 16 June, with the ship engaging in a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with a Sri Lanka Navy vessel in the seas off Colombo, further enhancing interoperability and mutual understanding between the two naval forces.
