The Ministry of Defence has firmly rejected the statement made by Member of Parliament Ramanathan Archuna in Parliament yesterday, alleging that a stock of weapons belonging to former LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran had been brought into the country through containers released from customs in recent times.
Defence Secretary, Retired Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuiyakontha, responding to an inquiry, stated that the claim made by the MP is entirely baseless and false.
