Reports have emerged that Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Parliamentarian Rohana Bandara has received death threats through anonymous letters.
According to MP Bandara, the letters warned him not to take any further political action or attempt to gain power, particularly in relation to the Medawachchiya and Kebithigollewa Pradeshiya Sabhas. The letters state that both local councils have already been established, and any further attempts by him would result in fatal consequences.
The parliamentarian lodged an official complaint regarding the threats with the Anuradhapura Police on Wednesday (15).
