President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, currently on a state visit to Vietnam, met with the top management of Vingroup Group yesterday afternoon (04) at the company’s headquarters to engage in high-level discussions aimed at strengthening economic ties.
During the meeting, President Dissanayake extended an official invitation to Vingroup to explore investment opportunities in Sri Lanka’s real estate and tourism sectors.
Commending Vingroup on its remarkable achievements and the development of globally recognized, diversified brands, the President emphasized Sri Lanka’s readiness to provide a flexible and investor-friendly environment.
He further outlined the government’s strong commitment to supporting foreign investors, highlighting Sri Lanka’s strategic geographic location, ongoing infrastructure development, and the significant growth potential in key sectors such as tourism and real estate.
Vingroup JSC, originally established in Ukraine in 1993 under the name Technocom Corporation, has evolved into one of Vietnam’s largest and most respected private enterprises.
The discussion was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Overseas Employment, and Tourism Vijitha Herath, Vingroup Vice Chairman and CEO Nguyen Viet Quang, as well as representatives from both nations.
