President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, currently on an official state visit to Vietnam, met with the top management of Vingroup Group yesterday afternoon (May 4) at the company’s headquarters, where key bilateral investment discussions took place.
During the meeting, President Dissanayake extended an official invitation to Vingroup to invest in Sri Lanka’s rapidly developing real estate and tourism sectors.
Commending Vingroup on its remarkable success and the establishment of diverse global brands, the President emphasized the Sri Lankan government’s readiness to offer a flexible and investor-friendly environment. He further underscored the nation’s strategic geographical location, ongoing infrastructure development, and the high potential of sectors such as tourism and real estate.
President Dissanayake also reiterated his administration’s commitment to fostering a favorable climate for foreign direct investment, ensuring long-term partnerships with international enterprises.
Vingroup JSC, formerly known as Technocom Corporation, was established in Ukraine in 1993 and has since grown into one of Vietnam’s largest and most respected private enterprises.
The meeting was also attended by Sri Lanka’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Overseas Employment and Tourism, Vijitha Herath; Vingroup Vice Chairman and CEO Nguyen Viet Quang; along with other high-level representatives from both countries.
