The Court of Appeal issued a ruling today (April 4), directing the relevant Returning Officers to reconsider and re-accept nearly 37 nomination papers that had been previously rejected for the upcoming local government elections.
This decision was made by a bench consisting of Acting President of the Court of Appeal, Mohamed Lafar Tahir, and K.P. Fernando, after reviewing the writ petitions submitted by recognized political parties and independent groups challenging the rejection of their nomination papers.
