ComBank’s ‘RemitPlus’ is rewarding customers with Rs 3 million in cash

The Sinhala and Tamil New Year is still weeks away, but for remittance customers of the Commercial Bank of Ceylon celebrations have already begun, thanks to the return of the Bank’s ‘Pita Rata Wasi’ promotion.

Commencing 15th February, one recipient of a remittance sent via ComBank RemitPlus has been winning Rs 50,000 each day, and the winning streak will continue till 15th April, 2025, until a total of Rs 3 million in cash has been presented via fortnightly draws, the Bank said.

All remittances routed via RemitPlus, irrespective of value, are eligible for these draws and Bank said the names of the winners will be published in the Bank’s own social media channels, and on the RemitPlus App after each draw.

ComBank’s RemitPlus is a sophisticated, low cost, real time, online money transfer facility which enables Sri Lankan expatriates to make instant money transfers from many countries around the world. Available to remitters through a network of agents and Business Partners in more than 130 countries, ComBank RemitPlus remittances are credited to the recipients’ Commercial Bank accounts instantly at any time of the day, any day of the year.

Commercial Bank has also launched the ‘ComBank RemitPlus App’ which is designed for customers to get all the remittance related information they need without any hassle. Anyone can download the RemitPlus app via App store or Google play store and use it without a joining fee or an annual fee.

Regular remittance receivers are eligible to open a Remittance Account at Commercial Bank and receive a Remittance Card free of charge. The funds credited to a Remittance Accounts can be accessed via the Remittance Card.

Commercial Bank is one of the most active players in Sri Lanka in the field of remittances. One of the Bank’s key strengths is its island-wide network of strategically located branches, many of which remain open on public, bank and mercantile holidays, and its network of ATMs, one of the largest automated cash dispensing systems owned by a single private bank in Sri Lanka.

Recipients of remittances sent to the Bank are served by a dedicated customer support call centre for remittances and receive SMS alerts once the remittance is received and is ready to be paid out.
