A meeting of opposition party leaders was held in Parliament under the leadership of Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, with the objective of building a stronger opposition that effectively represents the voice of the people both inside and outside the legislature.
During the discussions, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa called on all opposition party leaders to unite in their efforts to create a formidable parliamentary presence. He emphasized the importance of bringing the concerns of the public to the government’s attention and ensuring that their voices are heard. Highlighting the need for a more robust and dynamic Parliament, Premadasa stated that while the opposition should support positive government initiatives, it must also stand firm against any actions that may be detrimental to the country and its people.
The meeting was attended by several prominent opposition figures, including Anuradha Jayaratne, Shanakya Rasamanikyam, Mano Ganesan, Palani Digambaram, Gayantha Karunathilaka, J.C. Alawathuwala, Ajith P. Perera, Ravi Karunanayake, and a group of others.
