The Supreme Court today (18) directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to submit a comprehensive report on the investigations into the alleged early release of three questions from the first paper of the recently concluded Grade 5 Scholarship Examination. The report is to be filed by 9.00 a.m. tomorrow (19).
This directive was issued during the hearing of four Fundamental Rights petitions filed by a group of students and parents who sat for the examination. The petitions seek an order to reconduct the examination due to the alleged irregularity.
The order was issued by a bench comprising Justices Yasantha Kodagoda, Kumuduni Wickramasinghe, and Arjuna Obeysekara.
The hearing of the petitions is set to continue later today.
