Yoshitha Rajapaksa, the son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, and Major Neville Wanniarachchi, the personal security officer of the former president, were summoned to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today (16) in connection with a hearing.
However, legal representatives appearing on their behalf informed the CID that Yoshitha Rajapaksa is currently overseas and that Major Neville Wanniarachchi is unable to attend due to being on a private trip.
According to reports, the summons were issued to record statements related to an ongoing investigation under the Money Laundering Act.
