The annual Mahaviru Week, dedicated to commemorating those who lost their lives in the war, has commenced in the Northern Province.
During this period, families and relatives of the deceased are visiting memorial sites in their respective districts to pay their respects and honor their loved ones.
The concluding ceremony is scheduled to take place today at 6:05 PM.
Notably, this year’s commemorative activities proceeded without any reported interference from security forces, marking a significant aspect of the observance.
