The Ceylon Electricity Board Employees’ Union has formally urged the Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to take immediate measures to distribute employee bonuses before December 10, citing the organization’s recent return to profitability.
In a letter addressed to the Chairman, the union’s General Secretary, Ranjan Jayalal, emphasized the significance of this request. He noted that employees had been denied bonuses for the past two years, as the previous administration had attributed the decision to financial losses incurred by the CEB.
The union’s appeal comes amidst renewed optimism over the financial stability of the Board, with hopes that this positive turnaround will reflect in employee benefits.
