The wife and two children of former Polonnaruwa District Member of Parliament Amarakirthi Athukorala, who died in the incident that took place on May 09 in Nittambuwa area, met President Ranil Wickramasinghe at the Presidential Office yesterday (05).
President Ranil Wickramasinghe expressed his deep regret over the incident and told them to inform him if they need any help including education of the children.
The President also mentioned that he is ready to provide any help under the grants from the government personally or on behalf of the MP for the future of the children and the welfare of the family.
Meanwhile, the president also made a financial donation from the police reward fund on behalf of police sergeant Jayantha Gunawardena, the personal security officer of Mr. Amarakirthi Athukorala who died in the related incident.
