A senior official from the commission revealed to Mawrata that the Bribery or Corruption Investigation Division received a total of 2,993 complaints during the nine-month period from January to September 30.
These complaints include 259 cases of bribery, 466 allegations of various forms of corruption, and 86 reports concerning undeclared assets.
Throughout the same period, Bribery Investigation Officers carried out 81 raids related to bribery complaints, resulting in the arrest of 67 suspects.
The official further noted that among those apprehended in connection with bribery offenses are 21 police officers, a school principal, an irrigation district engineer, a labor officer, 22 civilians, three Grama Niladharis, a land officer, two revenue inspectors, and several other officials from various government departments.
