A complaint has been lodged with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, accusing a former head of the Water Supply Board of multiple irregularities during his tenure.
The complaint alleges that the individual in question misused six vehicles belonging to the Water Supply Board, including an 8-wheel drive jeep, which was reportedly used by his wife. Furthermore, it is claimed that a double-cab vehicle from the board was used to transport meat and fish to his private hotel.
The complaint also highlights that a jeep, registered under his brother’s daughter, was brought to the board and rented out.
It has come to light that this individual led a lavish lifestyle, holding significant positions during both the Mahinda Rajapaksa and Ranil Wickremesinghe governments.
While the person’s identity is being withheld for ethical reasons, a detailed report containing their name will be submitted in the future.
