A delegation of senior representatives from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is set to arrive in Sri Lanka on the 14th, coinciding with the date of the country’s general election.
Sources indicate that the visit will include key discussions focused on the upcoming loan installment that Sri Lanka is set to receive from the IMF.
In addition to this, the IMF representatives are expected to seek further clarity on the government’s economic policies during their visit.
The Sri Lankan government has already affirmed its commitment to continue adhering to the terms outlined in its agreement with the IMF.
The Central Bank Governor and the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance have previously communicated this intention to the IMF representatives during recent talks in Washington.
