Lakshman Nipunaarachchi stated that the previous government outsourced passport production to a foreign company, a decision he attributed to the Ranil-Tirana administration’s desire for commission-based profits.
He made this remark during a public meeting in Colombo.
However, he noted that the current government has also entrusted the same company with the passport supply contract.
