A senior police officer in Puttalam confirmed that the Sri Lanka Air Force, alongside other security forces, has initiated a special investigation following the crash of a drone over the Norochcholai Lakvijaya Power Plant on the 23rd.
The drone reportedly crashed within the power plant’s grounds after flying over the facility yesterday afternoon. Security forces suspect that the drone was being used to capture unauthorized images of the power plant.
Authorities have emphasized that flying a drone over the power plant without official permission is illegal, and a thorough investigation is underway to determine the motive behind this incident.
