A special meeting between President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) continued for a second day today (4th), held at the President’s Office. The discussions reaffirm the President’s commitment to advancing the ongoing IMF program.
The meeting was attended by key figures from the IMF, including Krishna Srinivasan, Director of the IMF’s Asia Pacific Department, Dr. Peter Breuer, head of the senior mission, along with other senior IMF officials and members of Sri Lanka’s delegation involved in the negotiations.
President Dissanayake’s objective is to successfully meet the targets set under the IMF program, while exploring alternative approaches that alleviate the burden on the Sri Lankan people.
