The Supreme Court has ordered the remand of Immigration Controller Harsha Ilukpitiya on charges of contempt of court.
He faces accusations of failing to comply with interim injunctions that were issued to halt the decision to hand over the e-visa issuance process to two private companies.
The court made the remand order after the charges were formally presented during today’s hearing (25).
The case is set to be taken up again on January 22.
