Parents gathered outside the Examination Department today (18) to protest the department’s decision to remove three questions from the first paper of the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination and adjust the final scores accordingly.

The protesters are calling for the cancellation of the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination. Some parents were allowed inside the Examination Department to submit a letter expressing their concerns.

The protest is ongoing, with reports indicating that police and anti-riot units have been deployed to the scene. Demonstrators claim that the examination commissioner has dismissed their concerns and is calling for his resignation.

Similar protests have been reported in various locations today.

The 2024 Grade 5 Scholarship Examination took place last Sunday, with 323,879 candidates participating. Allegations have surfaced that a tutor in the Alawwa area had leaked a guess paper containing questions similar to those on the examination’s first paper before the test.Scholarship Test

In response to numerous complaints, the Examination Department conducted a swift investigation. Following consultations with the panel of experts who prepared the question paper, the department decided to remove the three contested questions and adjust the final scores accordingly.
