The Supreme Court of Sri Lanka upheld the decision by the Samagi Jana Balavegaya to expel Manusha Nanayakkara and Harin Fernando from party membership.
The court declared the action by the SJB to be both legal and correct.
Simultaneously, the court dismissed the petitions filed by Ministers Manusha Nanayakkara and Harin Fernando, which contended that the SJB’s move to revoke their party membership was unlawful.
The bench ruled against invalidating the party’s decision, effectively refusing the requests presented in the petitions.
The hearing occurred before a three-judge bench comprising Justices Vijitha Malalgoda, Achala Vengappuli, and Arjuna Obeysekera, who delivered the final verdict.
