Member of Parliament Buddhika Pathirana mentioned this when he participated in the press conference held at the Samagi Jana Balawega head office
He further commented and said:
“The program to create a united people’s alliance is currently being prepared. Parties representing the Parliament, parties not representing the Parliament, mass organizations and individuals are scheduled to join the Samagi Jana Alliance after discussing with Mr Sajith Premadasa. All these people join together with Samagi Jana Sanandhana for a common program. Also, Samagi Jan Sandanha is a broad political alliance. Samagi Jana Sanandhana will be launched on August 8. On August 15th, nominations will be given and on August 16th, religious ceremonies will be given priority and presidential election operations will begin.
During the 76 years, the people of the country worked to produce executive presidents. But this time the people should work to win a program. Samagi Janabalawegaya is asking for a mandate from the people to make a program that will make Sri Lanka win in the world where the country will win. There must be a leader and a team to make the program of Samagi Janabalawega win. Mr Sajith Premadasa and the team of Samagi Janabalawega are ready to take the leadership for that. Mr. Sajith Premadasa and Samagi Janabalawega are implementing this program as a collective effort.
The things that Mr Sajith Premadasa has mentioned for many years are included in the program of Samagi Janabalawega. Preparation of the country-building program presented by Samagi Janabalawega started three years ago. The United People’s Power has a program to build every development sector and welfare sector in the country. Also, policies have been formulated to protect micro, small and medium-scale businessmen, international trade and local trade. Also, a National Policy Commission has been established and everything has been planned to take the program forward. Also, in formulating the policies of the United People’s Force, attention has been given to retirees, senior citizens, people with special needs, marginalized groups, and all those representing all religions and races.
Samagi Janabalawaya is a 4-year-old new political movement. Even though there are people who represent the United National Party, Samagi Janabalawega is not a homogeneous group of the United National Party. The economic philosophy and political philosophy of Samagi Jana Balavega is not the economic philosophy and political philosophy of the United National Party.
Also, the ambition of the opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa is to prepare a constitution that fulfils the needs of the people in the country and change the direction of the country and provides a new turning point for the country.
