India secured a 3-0 series sweep against Sri Lanka with a Super Over victory in the inconsequential third and final T20I at Pallekele on Tuesday.

Kusal Perera (46) and Kusal Mendis (43) spearheaded Sri Lanka’s 138-run chase, but the team’s batting lineup crumbled, ending their innings at 137/8 after 20 overs, leading to the Super Over scenario.

Indian bowlers Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Rinku Singh, and skipper Suryakumar Yadav all took two wickets each. India needed just three runs to clinch the win in the Super Over. Earlier, Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana’s bowling efforts restricted India to 137/9 in their innings.
