Today, Pohottuwa’s political council is scheduled to meet, but political sources indicate that Pohottuwa will probably nominate another presidential candidate without supporting Mr. Wickramasinghe.
If that happens, sources close to the government say that Mr. Wickramasinghe is planning to withdraw from the presidential candidate battle and nominate another candidate, most likely the names of Mr. Sarath Fonseka and Champika Ranawaka.
