Opposition leader strongly condemns the Israel government’s inhumane attack against the Palestinian people by carrying out state terrorism and calls upon the Prime Minister of Israel to immediately stop the inhumane attack and genocide against the children, babies, mothers and other people of Palestine and that the Palestinian people should be given the country they deserve. Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa said that by the end of this year, Sri Lanka will stand together with the Palestinian people without double talk.
He strongly condemns Israel’s state terrorism and the massive inhumane attacks against the Palestinian people, emphasizing that Palestine should be granted its rightful country. He calls on the Prime Minister of Israel to immediately stop the inhumane attacks and massacres on the children, infants, mothers, and general population of Palestine. By the end of this year, Sri Lanka will undoubtedly stand with the Palestinian people.
Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa made this statement (on July 4) while attending the 284th phase of the “Sakwala Suhuru” program, which involved donating classroom equipment and a set of loudspeakers worth 1,177,000 rupees to Eravur Al Azhar High School for Girls in Batticaloa. On this occasion, he also donated 100,000 rupees to the school development fund for costumes for the school dance troupe.
He stressed the importance of openly discussing countries and governments responsible for genocides, stating that while some are afraid to speak out, he is not. He criticized Israel’s attacks and called out the Israeli Prime Minister by name, declaring that the policy of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya is for these two countries to live together peacefully, harmoniously, and cooperatively without war. Hence, he calls for an end to the barbaric and inhumane attacks targeting the Palestinian people.
According to international law, the key elements required for the formation of a country are territory, population, and government. If these elements are present, there is international recognition of the country as a free state. Israel is attempting to annihilate the Palestinian population to take over Palestinian territory without its people, which cannot be allowed. Therefore, he demands an end to these barbaric attacks and reiterates that Sri Lanka will stand with Palestine by the end of this year.
