During Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa’s presidency, Karuna Amman, the former deputy minister, credited Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa as the hero who ended the war. He now asserts that Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe is the current hero who has brought an end to the conflict.
During that time, Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa had even planned to appoint Karuna Amman as Vice President of SLFP due to his staunch support.
