Prof. Pujya Gallalle Sumanasiri Thero remarked that it is absurd to claim that the country’s problems are solved when the price of eggs has risen from Rs 17 to Rs 70, diesel has increased from Rs 150 to Rs 300, and rice has gone from Rs 150 to Rs 250.
He made these comments at a ceremony attended by Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and ministers of the Pohottuwa party.
